Information on becoming a Healer

The term 'spiritual healing' embraces the practice of healing by the laying-on-of-hands, also absent healing which is by means of meditation and prayer with the person(s) in mind. We are a non denominational group and anyone is welcome to join, providing they follow our training schedule and become familiar with our Code of Conduct. The term is abbreviated to 'healing' and applies to healing of the sick in body, mind or spirit, or condition of life.
As a probationer healer you will be sponsored by two Full Healer Members, one of whom will become your main trainer. The trainer will be responsible for ensuring that each phase in the Training Schedule are adequately covered.
Training Schedule
Spiritual attunement.
An essential requirement to become an effective channel for spiritual healing is an adequate degree of
spiritual awareness and a personal relationship with the spiritual Source of Life. Regular religious assembly, or private prayer or, where appropriate, mediation or contemplation or study. But the most important thing is not HOW it is done but that it IS done.
Through meditation and prayer a condition of relaxed, quiet peacefulness will arise as attunement. This is most important and will convey a feeling of peace to the patient, maintaining the attuned silence whilst laying-on hands.
The Human Body.
You do not need to have a great knowledge of the human body to be a healer. Just a basic understanding of the workings of the body and location of the main parts of the body is necessary.
Elementary Counseling.
Usually there is a period of time spent talking with a patient before and after the laying-on of hands. One could perhaps, envisage the healer as a friend with a listening ear who can understand the patient's need to share their problems with someone else. A friend who may make comments and help the patient to make his/her own decisions, without saying what to do.
Keeping records.
Records are kept for each patient. Strict confidentiality is kept for such records and for all matters of a personal nature raised by the patient.
Code of Conduct.
General principles of conduct;
Medical policy and ethics;
Healing and the law;
Disciplinary procedures.
Supervised practice.
As a probationer you would work along side a experienced D.H.W.S.H.A. Member, who will be your trainer. In cases where the probationer is a member of a healing group, it is likely that some time is spent in supervised practice with various members of the group to be able to benefit from the breadth of experience they have gained. You will be guided in developing a gentle approach and a socially-acceptable manner or method.
